A Chamber of Commerce is an
association of business people concerned about improving the
area in which they do business; the area in which they live; the
area in which they have made their greatest investments. Its
strength lies in the number and diversity of its membership.
Both large and small businesses
from virtually every profession are represented and they
influence the interests and concerns of the Chamber.
The Chamber encourages its
industries, retail and service businesses, professional offices,
and community non-profit organizations to regularly identify
ways to support their organization’s specific needs and to make
sure that their individual views are incorporated into community
decisions.

The goals of Knox
County Chamber of Commerce are to partner with the people who
live here to promote the local economy by attracting new
enterprises and maintaining a healthy business environment, to
encourage excellence in education, to create an environment
which nourishes new ideas and creativity, and to assume a
leadership role in southeastern Kentucky.
The Chamber
serves as the voice of business in the Knox County area and as
an advocate for a quality community.
The
members are the Chamber. The more members the Chamber has, the
better its representation in the overall community. It
accomplishes collectively what no other business could do alone,
and is only as strong as members allow it to be, through their
support. It is through this support that the committees are
formed to advance the programs and projects that will benefit
the community. With combined expertise and a desire to succeed,
a Chamber and its members create an atmosphere where community
and business growth are inevitable.
